Balsamic Roasted Beets
Beets help to detoxify your liver and gallbladder, making them an excellent choice after the holiday season.
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 4 medium beets, washed and scrubbed well
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons natural fat of your choice, melted (eg. Duck fat, ghee, olive oil or coconut oil)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 minced garlic clove (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Grease or line a baking tray.
- Cut the beets into wedges. Arrange them on the baking tray.
- Drizzle oil and vinegar over the beets and then sprinkle with salt and thyme.
- Bake in the oven for approximately 40 minutes, or until softened.
