Don’t Accept A Fatty Liver
Your liver is not meant to be fatty, and you should not accept this as normal or healthy. Many people do because fatty liver has become so common, and doctors often tell patients it is nothing to worry about and they just need to try to lose weight. Having a fatty liver increases your risk of developing some serious health problems such as heart attacks, strokes and type 2 diabetes. The kind of health problems that people die from.
It’s very difficult to lose weight if you have a fatty liver.
Why is this?
It is because people with a fatty liver are incredibly sensitive to carbohydrates such as grains, sugary foods and processed foods which are high in gluten and other carbohydrates. This sensitivity to carbohydrates is called Syndrome X or insulin resistance, and a small amount of the wrong carbohydrates sends their blood levels of insulin soaring way too high. Insulin turns the carbohydrates into a fat called triglycerides which get stored in your fatty tissues and inside your liver.
We can only be successful in reversing a fatty liver and thus losing weight if we have a complete strategy that includes –
- Lowering insulin levels
- Improving liver function
- Detoxing the liver
- Repairing damaged liver cells
- Reducing inflammation in the liver
This can be done without the use of drugs. The most commonly prescribed drug to reduce fatty liver and insulin resistance is called Metformin and it works for around 20% of people, but it can cause the body to become more acidic.
