Warm And Spicy Stewed Apples

Stewed apples are soothing to the digestive tract and wonderful for anybody with gastrointestinal problems.

Serves 4


  • 4 apples, core removed and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon or more of ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon or more of ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • ¼ cup water


  1. Place all ingredients into a pot and heat on the stove until it simmers.
  2. Turn the heat down to low, stir and allow to cook for approximately 30 minutes, or until the apples are very soft.
  3. Stir every so often and if the mixture dries out too much, add a little more water.
  4. Serve for dessert with a dollop of canned coconut cream.
