What to Do If You Don't Have a Gallbladder?
Gallbladder problems are extremely common. Approximately 750,000 Americans have their gallbladder removed each year. In most cases, the pain of a malfunctioning gallbladder becomes so bad, that surgery is the only viable option. Most people are under the impression that once their gallbladder is taken out, the pain and discomfort they’ve been living with will be gone. Sadly that’s often not the case. It is common to have just as much discomfort after the gallbladder is removed.
People without a gallbladder are more prone to digestive problems and liver problems; they can even form stones within the ducts of the liver. The risk of developing a fatty liver is also greater in people without a gallbladder. Some herbs and nutritional supplements are extremely beneficial if you don’t have a gallbladder. Are you confused about which supplements to take, or which foods you should avoid?
The function of the gallbladder
Your gallbladder is important. Your liver continually manufactures bile, which travels to your gallbladder, where it is stored and concentrated. Bile helps you to digest fat; therefore your gallbladder secretes a lot of bile into your intestines after you’ve eaten a fatty meal. Bile is also your body’s way of excreting wastes and toxins. Bile contains cholesterol and other fats that your liver has broken down and wants to excrete. A well functioning gallbladder helps your body excrete cholesterol, other fats and fat soluble toxins. What happens when you don’t have a gallbladder?
Your liver continues to manufacture bile, but there is no longer a place to store it or concentrate it. Therefore bile continually slowly trickles into intestines. If you eat a fatty meal, you will not be able to secrete a large enough amount of bile into your intestines, therefore the fat will be poorly digested. This means many people experience diarrhea, bloating, nausea or indigestion. Not digesting fat well means you will not be able to digest essential fatty acids, including omega 3 and omega 6 fats. It also means you’ll have a hard time absorbing fat soluble vitamins such as vitamins D, E, A and K. These nutrients are vital for good health, and you will probably need to take a supplement. How to have a healthy liver and good digestion without a gallbladder
First of all it’s important to realise that you developed a gallbladder problem in the first place because you had an unhealthy liver. If your liver is not healthy, it will make poor quality bile. The bile will be prone to forming sludge and stones. Just whipping the gallbladder out doesn’t solve that problem, and in fact sludge and stones can form within the liver, compromising its function. Here are some vital tips to follow:- Keep your intake of dairy products and grains to a minimum or avoid them altogether. Dairy products (milk, cheese, ice-cream, yoghurt) worsen all cases of gallbladder disease, liver disease and they are very difficult to digest. Food intolerance is a common cause of gallbladder problems, and there is research that links gluten intolerance with gallstones. A good reason to keep your intake of grains low is to reduce the risk of developing a fatty liver. There is an easy to follow eating plan in my book Fatty Liver - You Can Reverse It.
- Take a good quality liver tonic such as Livatone. The herbs St Mary’s thistle, dandelion root and globe artichoke leaves all increase bile production and bile flow. Taurine is an amino acid necessary for bile production. This should help to make you feel more comfortable after a meal, and should reduce the risk of stones forming inside your liver.
- Eat some good fats and avoid the bad fats. Your doctor may have recommended you follow a low fat diet after having your gallbladder removed. This is not necessary and in fact it is harmful. Your body desperately needs good fats and I recommend you include moderate quantities of extra virgin olive oil, avocados, coconut milk and oil, nuts and seeds in your diet.
- Take an ox bile supplement. This is the most important recommendation for people who have lost their gallbladder. A lack of bile can produce symptoms such as bloating and indigestion after meals, light colored stools, diarrhea, fatigue after meals and nutrient deficiencies. Taking a good quality ox bile supplement with each meal is wonderful for completely eliminating these symptoms in most individuals.
- Take a Digestive Enzymes supplement. The majority of people who developed a gallbladder problem have suffered with poor digestion for many years. If your stomach and intestines are not in optimal health, they will not send signals to your gallbladder, telling it to contract properly. Irritable bowel syndrome, dysbiosis, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and Candida overgrowth are common in people with a gallbladder problem. If you have had your gallbladder removed, you may continue to suffer symptoms due to those conditions. These digestive problems also cause insufficient digestive enzyme production. Taking digestive enzymes in supplement form helps to restore good digestive health and reduces symptoms of indigestion.
- You may need a vitamin D3 supplement. People with compromised liver or digestive function are often vitamin D deficient. Exposure of your skin to the sun’s UVB rays enables your body to manufacture vitamin D. However, this process occurs in your liver and kidneys. People with a sluggish liver often do not manufacture vitamin D adequately. Therefore it’s a good idea to get a blood test and take a supplement. 5000 IU of vitamin D3 is a safe and effective dose for most people, but it’s best to be guided by your own doctor.
- Include some bitter and sour foods in your diet. They should help to improve your digestion and make it easier to tolerate good fats in your diet. Suitable bitter and sour foods include lemons, limes, radicchio lettuce, chicory, endive and dandelion leaves. These leaves are fairly easy to grow at home if you are lucky enough to have your own veggie patch.

I stumbled upon your website and thought I'd share some info that might be helpful to you and your patients. When I had digestive issues, my Gastro recommended I have my gallbladder removed. Afterward, my issues continued. I saw a different Gastro and he was shocked to find out that my 1st Gastro did not test me for Celiac Disease as I had many of the symptoms. A blood test showed my numbers were off the chart and an upper endoscopy confirmed the diagnosis. I want to stress how extremely important it is that people NOT start eating gluten-free before being tested because once gluten is eliminated from one's diet, the test will not accurately reflect that one has Celiac Disease. I highly recommend that you encourage people who express concern about gallbladder and digestive issues to get tested BEFORE going gluten-free. Having the diagnosis on paper is very important for several reasons, one of them being that it is genetic and knowing that it runs in your family can help other family members who may also be suffering from symptoms, some of which can cause very serious health challenges. FYI: Some people have Silent Celiac Disease (in my case...Silent heartburn resulting in Barrett's Esophagus) and they don't have any symptoms at all, but internally are still experiencing the damage. The other reason that is important to have the diagnosis on paper from your MD, is if/when you need to be admitted to a nursing home, you must have the diagnosis in writing in order to have the facility agree to provide a strict gluten-free diet for you. I was told this by the director of one of our local nursing homes (his wife has Celiac Disease). When people are advised to TRY going gluten-free to see if they feel better, chances are if they do, they won't want to eat gluten anymore, which means they will never be able to get a diagnosis. Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disease and it is very common to have more than one autoimmune disease, another reason it is important to determine if you really have it by getting an upper endoscopy. Strictly adhering to a GF diet is very important. I am not an MD, but I've walked the path and have learned as much as I can about Celiac Disease so that I can help others to navigate the gluten-free lifestyle by leading a local celiac support group. Another helpful tip: Mix 1 tsp. Slippery Elm Powder in warm/hot water (shake in a jar before pouring into mug) and drink to soothe esophagus if experiencing GERD/acid reflux. After being diagnosed with Barrett's and told it would never go away, I used Slippery Elm and after my next upper GI, was told there was no evidence of Barrett's. I know 2 other people I've shared this info with who have had the same thing happen. (BTW: I saw a Gastro at Mayo in Rochester and he said he had never heard of Barrett's going away, but wanted to know the details of what I did). Hopefully, this information is helpful to you.
Hope this finds you well.
Thank you so much for sharing your story.
You make some very valid points and I'm sure what you've shared will be invaluable to a lot of people.

Many people with Gallbladder problems still have a congested liver remaining after surgery.
Now that you no longer have a gallbladder it is important to ensure there is sufficient bile present at each meal.
To supply bile, boost liver health and your vitality, Dr Cabot prescribes
Ox Bile capsules – 1 – 2 capsules during each meal to replace the bile that can no longer be delivered from your gallbladder to help essential fat and fat-soluble vitamin absorption.
Livatone Plus – 1 cap twice daily for 2 weeks and then increase to 2 capsules twice daily, to improve liver function.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC 600mg) – 1 cap twice daily well away from food, if any upset occurs take at the beginning of your meals. This supplement works well with Livatone Plus to get your liver better faster. This supplement is the precursor nutrient of glutathione; the body’s strongest anti-oxidant. NAC should be taken with a whole glass of water away from food. Do not take just before retiring to bed. NAC can be strong on the stomach, and this is why you need to take it with a whole glass of water.

Hope you’re well.
I had my gallbladder removed in 2018 and got diagnosed with mild bile acid malabsorption in 2020 - I stopped taking prescribed medicine as I didn’t feel it worked for me.
Over the past year I have noticed increasing bloating and discomfort along with lighter stools (food dependent). I’m looking for some advice for best ongoing management of symptoms and maintaining a healthy liver.
Can you please advise what you would recommend.

I had my gallbladder removed 10 weeks ago and developed bile reflux straight away. Never had reflux before this but endoscopy has shows bile in my stomach. I also have floating stools. I have been put on cholestyramine which has stopped the urgency of a bowel movement but it still floats. Can you recommend anything for my bile reflux and digestion please? Thank you!

April 2022 (at age 76) due to concerns with possible pancreatic cancer, I had a robotic Whipple procedure to remove part of my pancreas and my gall bladder. All benign.
OH THAT WAS A BIT RADICAL !
But for many months following surgery I had horrible diarrhea 8 to 12 times a day. Lost 45 pounds (some necessary but not this way).
WELL IT MAY HAVE BEEN BILE SALT MALABSORPTION SYNDROME
One doctor finally proscribed Lomotil which has reduced diarrhea.
GOOD
I take CREON with each meal or snack
ESSENTIAL
, a multivitamin, potassium and the Lomotil.
OK
Recently had very high readings of liver markers on a routine blood test (all else normal).
INSTEAD OF A MULTIVITAMIN I WOULD RECOMMEND LIVATONE PLUS 2 CAPSULES TWICE DAY
A nutritionist has put me on a probiotic and GI Detox.
THAT WILL NOT HELP MUCH
Would your supplements help or conflict with what I already take?
NOT AT ALL
I’d love to get back to a “normal” life – not worrying about occasional unexpected bouts of diarrhea.
WELL IF ITS BILE SALT MALABSORPTION YOU CAN BE FIXED WITH CHOLESTYRAMINE
ALTERNATIVELY IF YOUR DIARRHEA IS DUE TO LACK OF BILE YOU MAY FIND AN OXBILE CAPSULE IN MIDDLE OF MEALS THAT CONTAIN FAT WOULD HELP WOULD HELP A LOT

I think it is worthwhile for you to go gluten free. I think that a good quality L-Glutamine supplement will help you a lot! Take 5gms three times daily in cool water in between meals and before bed.
Liver doctor brand of SUPER DIGESTIVE ENZYMES are fairly mild on the gut and may help you - take one capsule in middle of meals. Perhaps freshly made raw juices may help such as beet, apple, orange, carrot, cabbage and can be diluted with water.
smoothies with coconut cream, banana, papaya, raw fresh egg and some honey will help gain weight.
I would also recommend LIVATONE PLUS 2 capsules daily.
Best wishes

that's so disappointing but unfortunately is not rare. People rush into surgery and do not investigate properly.
You may in fact be suffering with gastroparesis which I have a video on - see youtube or www.liverdoctor.com- this video is critical for you to watch
you probably had that to start with and did not need your gall bladder removed
Also please have a chest xray and a stress ECG to check your heart and lungs
In the meantime take my SUPER DIGESTIVE ENZYMES - one or two capsules in middle of meals
Stay in touch I can help you
Diabetes makes gastroparesis worse so dont eat sugar

Watch my videos on gallbladder problems after your surgery because you can still have problems if your diet is wrong.
LIVATONE PLUS 2 day would also help to repair your liver which has not been making healthy bile.

Are all of those products something I should get right away and just start them? Should I introduce them slowly? Is that advice good for someone that has GERD as well. Doesn't dandelion root tea create a more acidic environment? Any ideas what the root cause of dyspnea could be? ER doctors ruled out everything serious so now I'm just trying to pinpoint root cause and address.
You cannot afford to eat high carbohydrate foods = they will make unhealthy bile and cause fatty liver and SIBO. All these things can cause GERD.
Watch my videos on gall bladder problems on YouTube.
You can still get stones in your liver bile ducts after gall bladder is removed.
You need to take the following:
LIVATONE PLUS 2 capsules twice day
SUPER DIGESTIVE ENZYMES - one or two capsules in middle of meals that contain protein and fat.
ULTIMATE GUT HEALTH POWDER one teaspoon twice day in cool water in between meals
Try this and you should go back in remission.
If you still need more help add NAC - one capsule twice day in between meals with a whole large glass of water
Thank you for your feedback and glad you found it helpful.

Yes I know you have huge stress, it is very hard for you. It is good you have taken your son off cow's milk.
Your son would be best to take liverdoctor SUPER DIGESTIVE ENZYMES as they have a small dose of oxbile, complete pancreas enzymes and betaine HCL and are gentle on the stomach. If he is constipated liverdoctor MAGNESIUM ULTRAPOTENT POWDER 1/2 tsp daily will help; he may need one tsp daily; put in water or juice.
Try to give him more protein and less high carb foods but people with Down's Syndrome crave high carb foods, so its not easy. You can only do your best!
You may find his mental state improves a lot if you give him one to two capsules daily of THYROID HEALTH CAPSULES.
Let me know how he gets on

if you have no symptoms from the stone/sludge then you do not have to have your gallbladder removed. See my videos on gallbladder to get understanding. You need to change your diet as per my gallbladder videos as you can probably reverse the stone and sludge and also you can have problems after the gallbladder is removed. If you have pain and other symptoms occurring frequently there may be infection and you may need it out. Nutritional medicine is effective and you need to take LIVATONE PLUS 2 capsules twice daily and NAC 2 capsules twice daily inbetween meals with a large glass of water. Drink plenty of water and tea is also good. NAC can help to dissolve gallstones and LIVATONE PLUS helps liver to make healthy bile. OXBILE capsules or URSODIOL can be taken in middle of meals to reduce sludge and improve digestion

I had to have my gallbladder removed 2 years ago. I am 49, since then I have had pain, was checked for bile duct clogs, stones left behind, nothing found. Recently diagnosed with fatty liver and high cholesterol. My blood pressure is perfect. As I do not want to be on medication my doctor has given me 6 months to “get it together” I eat a low carb, low sugar, non dairy diet. Have started incorporating lemons daily and grapefruits. Exercising 5x a week also. Recommendations on supplements to help? Also have had IBS since I was 18.

I’m starting a diet (low fat, mod carbs, mod protein, cutting out red meats for a while, increasing vegetables). What supplements would you recommend along with the above mentioned to help with the absence of hormone regulation with the gallbladder/ bile functions. Thanks!
Fatty liver is more common after gall bladder surgery and this is why you cannot lose weight. The best diet for you is the diet for fatty liver found in my videos on www.liverdoctor.com; this will be more effective than the diet you describe. You need to take Livatone Plus 4 capsules daily with food. You would also benefit from taking one ox bile capsule in the middle of meals which contain fat.
the supplement N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) in a dose of one capsule twice day with a whole glass of water will cleanse the bile ducts and promote liver repair. Check out my videos on the gall bladder on the liverdoctor website

Thankyou so much for sharing such valuable info with us.
I am 18 and I had my gallbladder removed 2 months ago. It all happened suddenly and it was pretty difficult to digest ( haha )
I have a question can I consume beetroot juice along with carrot
Is that going to make my liver better or
I shouldn't consume it as some people say that beetroot shouldn't be consumed after surgery so I wanna know whether I can consume it or not.
Thankyou
Farzana
Yes you can drink Beetroot juice along with carrot juice.
They are both beneficial for the liver.

Your husband’s present condition does not lend itself to instigating the Gallbladder protocol.
Dr Cabot recommends you make him regular vegetable juices and deliver these through his tube.
When he can eat for himself, the protocol can be begun.

I had my gallbladder removed over 16 years ago. 8 yrs ago diagnosed with hypothyroidism tried Levo for 1 year felt worse changed my diet cut out gluten, dairy, peanuts and red meat only occasionally this has helped me tremendously and now my thyroid levels show normal. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with PBC liver disease. They prescribed URSO for me twice a day. I now also have very high cholesterol. It seems like one sickness after another since gallbladder removal. I have never taken a bile supplement as no one ever suggested it to me I’m at my wits end. Do you have any recommendations as to what can help me with improving my liver and lowering my cholesterol levels. I am 50 years old, my diet is healthy I do not eat fast foods. I try to eat leotard of fruits and vegetables daily. Occasionally I slip up and May eat a gluten product or indulge in vanilla ice cream but I usually go back to cutting them out as they make me feel awful. Could you please advise me please and My GI doctor says herbal supplements do not work? I am so lost.
Although everything seems to have occurred after your Gallbladder was removed, most of your problems may have been bubbling under the surface for a considerable time.
Most people with autoimmune conditions experience considerable gut inflammation that reduces liver function and that can progress to Gallbladder problems.
Your thyroid problems may well have also been autoimmune as they resolved with considerable dietary changes.
Your present high cholesterol may be due to your present diet, especially if you are consuming gluten free products.
The fruits and vegetables in your diet are supplying a lot of sugars and starches that all raise blood sugar and raise cholesterol and contribute to Fatty Liver.
We have seen our supplements work so well for so many patients that we cannot agree with your GI doctor. For your liver, please begin taking Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, NAC - 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid temporary stomach irritation, Collagen Food – ½ teaspoon twice daily, Vitamin D – 2,000 t0 5,000iu daily and please ensure your blood vitamin D is a minimum of 100.
High stress is a well-known trigger for autoimmune flares and for this please take Magnesium powder or tablets, 200mg twice daily in/with water.

Fatty Liver is becoming so common that doctors dismiss it, but when not treated appropriately is also becoming the major reason for liver transplant (replacing high alcohol intake for this). The Standard American Diet is a major reason for this.
We recommend your husband begin a liver friendly, anti-inflammatory diet and lifestyle as is found in Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program.
Alternatively, you may like to follow the eating plan in Dr Cabot’s Fatty Liver book and be aware that anyone with Gallstones is encouraged to avoid all dairy foods.
Good fats are necessary at each meal to encourage any contraction and ejection from the gallbladder. Poor gallbladder ejection fraction is often associated with vagal nerve dysfunction and so we recommend poly vagal nerve stimulation techniques and Magnesium powder or tablets at a dose of 200mg twice daily.
To heal his liver quicker than with diet and lifestyle changes only we recommend Ox Bile – 1 to 2 capsules with each meal, Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, and NAC - 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid temporary stomach irritation.
It is impossible to offer a timeline as we do not know how severe his Fatty Liver is.
If your husband is not experiencing pain, it is most unlikely to result in an emergency removal of his gallbladder, and this is even more unlikely as he follows our advice.

Your underactive thyroid may respond very well to regular intake of iodine rich food; are you able to get a regular supply of seaweed?
Having an underactive thyroid lowers your metabolic rate so makes Fatty Liver and Obesity far more likely.
To reduce the effect of an underactive thyroid we strongly recommend you reduce the amount of energy rich foods you eat every day.
Rice is likely to be a staple food for you so reduce the amount you eat every day to a quarter of what you have at present and, if possible, increase the amount of protein you eat every day.
Enjoy your vegetables and add lots of good fats but no seed oils, coconut oil is far better.
Avoid sweet foods, especially pastries because all these increase your effective sugar intake. If you can get supplements, we recommend Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, and Ox Bile – 1 to 2 capsules during each meal, and Thyroid Health Capsules to tone your thyroid gland.

Fatty Liver is very common and is often the cause of Gallbladders being removed.
To reverse your Fatty Liver, we recommend you begin taking Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, NAC - 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation, and https://www.liverdoctor.com/ox-bile-500mg-100-capsules.html">Ox Bile – 1 to 2 capsules two to three times daily during meals.
Ox Bile is necessary to supply the concentrated form of bile you can no longer supply naturally to help with the absorption of dietary fats and fat-soluble vitamins, and to assist removing the fatty deposits from your liver.
Dr Cabot's very relevant book 'Fatty Liver, You Can Reverse It' has a tasty and easy to follow plan to assist you reverse this increasingly common problem.
Both Digestive Enzymes - 1 capsule, and Ox Bile - 1 to 2 capsules can both be taken during all meals to improve digestion and absorption of your meals.

I have a gallbladder stones which is found 7 months ago. Now i am really confuse what to do with it. I Should remove it or not. Because now i know the several problems will have to face if i removed my gallbladder. At present i don’t have severe pain but worried and tensioned. My doctor suggests to operation, but after gallbladder removal i have to face indigestion, liver problems, high blood sugar, obese, diarrhoea, and also sevesal disease. So now i am totally confuse what to do now
Any suggestion please.
Most Gallbladders are able to be saved with appropriate dietary/lifestyle changes and supplementation.
Reduce high carbohydrate foods, processed foods and industrial seed oils.
Begin taking Ox Bile – 1 to 2 capsules with each meal, Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, and NAC - 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation.

Thank you,
Amber
It may be that coconut is one of your food sensitivities, so avoid it until you have reversed all food sensitivities.
Most people who have their Gallbladder removed are left with a sick liver, so it is most important to clear your liver and restore its health.
Being pregnant limits supplementation although you can begin taking Ox Bile straight away – 1 to 2 capsules during meals daily.
You can certainly begin taking beneficial vegetable juices to flush your liver with health giving antioxidants, and wait until the beginning of the 2nd trimester to begin supplements.
Remove all processed foods, high carbohydrate items, industrial seed oils and hydrogenated oils, and alcohol from your diet and replace with lots of vegetables and first quality protein and good fats.
Once you have begun your 4th month supplements are far safer and Livatone Plus – 1 to 2 capsules twice daily, NAC - 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation.
Ensure your Vitamin D level is optimized for both yours and baby's health.

I had my gallbladder removed about 10 years ago. For the last 3 years i have been donating plasma! About 3 months ago i was told that my alt was high (168) to be exact. I drank beet juice and ate cucumbers and a healthy diet for over a month before i got tested again. Still my ALT was too high! What can I do to lower my ALT? And how soon Will i see results? Thank you
As your ALT is high it is important to consider you may have Fatty Liver. Most times when Gallbladder is removed the problem of a congested liver remains.
This tends to occur when the diet is high in foods that stimulate inflammation and often when the diet has considerable amounts of nutrients that raise blood sugar.
Please begin a course of Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and then follow with the Maintenance Program and the same type of diet.
Supplements are important, and we recommend you begin Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily and NAC - 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation.
Combining diet and supplements may bring ALT changes in as little as 2 weeks.

Most Gallbladders can be retained, and Gallstones shrunk and resolved if you are prepared to make the necessary diet and lifestyle changes.
The changes may assist with your constipation as well.
Rapid weight loss is often associated with Gallstone formation so begin taking Ox Bile – 2 capsules during each meal.
Follow the dietary protocol in Dr Cabot’s Gallbladder book.

Rather than what you begin taking it may be more important to make changes to your diet and lifestyle.
We recommend a low inflammation, liver friendly plan as is found with Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program.
This may help with the reflux you are experiencing.
When the Gallbladder is removed there is often considerable liver congestion remaining that may be why your immune system is under functioning.
Begin taking Ox Bile - 1 to 2 capsules during each meal, Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily and NAC – 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation.

I’m 46. Had my gallbladder removed a year and a half ago, due to stones. Was having digestive issues for a couple years before having it removed with bouts of diarrhea and discomfort under right rib cage. Saw Naturapath doc, gastro doc, etc… took lots of supplements. Then finally after lots of imaging over the years, stone were found in gallbladder. So, got it removed. I still struggle with bouts of diarrhea. I take a digestive enzyme (enzycore) and ox bile salts (cholacol) they seem to help some. I also take a probiotic (renew life women’s 25 billion). Is there anything else you can recommend to help with the bouts of diarrhea? I’m so over it. Thank you for your help.
You may not be receiving sufficient ox bile salts to compensate for the bile you are no longer able to concentrate.
Have you had tests to ensure you do not have celiac disease, which is characterized by frequent bouts of diarrhea.
If not, you may have IBS which often contributes to diarrhea.
We recommend you firstly undertake Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program to reduce intestinal inflammation.
Begin taking Ox Bile - 1 to 2 capsules during each meal, Livatone Plus - 2 capsules twice daily, and NAC – 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation.

Most people who lose their Gallbladder still have a liver that is operating below par so we recommend you begin taking Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, and NAC – 2 capsules twice daily, well away from food with a large glass of water to avoid stomach irritation, and Ox Bile – 1 to 2 capsules at every meal, to replace the concentrated bile you can no longer provide your digestive system.

Although your liver is mostly good, we regularly find that people with raised bilirubin or Gilbert’s syndrome respond very well to an AIP diet as is found in Dr Cabot’s wonderful Autoimmune Book.
Our kidneys are very resilient to most nutrients but damaged significantly by high carbohydrate and processed food consumption.
When the Gallbladder is removed the ability for the body to have access to concentrated bile is lost, and this concentrated bile performs many necessary functions in the body so it is recommended that you begin taking 1 to 2 Ox Bile capsules during each meal to encourage the absorption of good dietary fats and fat soluble vitamins and to also act as a disinfectant to non beneficial species of bacteria that may be causing your constipation.
Selenium is beneficial to encourage conversion of your thyroid hormone to its bioactive form and also to reduce autoantibody levels. Once you begin taking Ox Bile we expect a Vitamin D supplement to be better absorbed to raise the level substantially and 5,000iu is not too much to get your levels up as quickly as possible.

We are pleased you now have so much of your kidney problems under control.
To help with your liver, weight and diarrhea Dr Cabot asks you to begin taking Ox Bile – 1 to 2 capsules during each meal to ensure you are replacing the concentrated bile you can no longer produce yourself to absorb good dietary fats and fat soluble vitamins.
When you can absorb fats from your diet, diarrhea is reduced. Ox bile will also help clear out your liver to make weight loss easier and faster.
You have Hashimoto’s which is an autoimmune condition and we recommend you read Dr Cabot’s Autoimmune Book.
Many foods are toxic to the gut of people with autoimmune conditions, including gluten, dairy foods and others that may be personally toxic to you.
For liver health begin taking Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily. This supplement contains selenium to help reduce your thyroid antibodies, and activated folate to help with your MTHFR concerns.
You are highly likely to also have gut damage and for this Glutamine is very beneficial – begin with ½ scoop in water before bed and gradually increase dosage till your digestive system tolerates 1 scoop twice daily.

I had my gallbladder removed 8 weeks ago through open surgery. Recovering really fast eating well thou having terrible bloating and gas after eating meat and again there is this numb feeling close the incision site that hurts and get this dull ache coupled with a dull ache in the inside under my right rib cage, it feels like its where the gallbladder was. Finally, I did my blood analysis 3 weeks ago and it indicates my liver enzymes all so high. Been so worried and need some help. Is this the recovery process? Will the liver enzymes drop? Will this dull uncomfortable ache go away eventually?
Your symptoms do not represent a typical post surgical response, and it may be best to have it checked for potential infection.
The effect of anesthetics would have been resolved by now and the most common non-medication reasons for liver enzymes to be raised are autoimmune liver disease or Fatty Liver.
It is important to have this issue resolved and then we can help you return your liver to best possible health.

You have had so many problems with your digestive system it is hard to think that all has come about due to having your Gallbladder removed.
To begin with it is very important to calm, soothe and heal your oesophagus and for this we strongly recommend you begin Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program.
Due to long-term gut damage, it may take quite a while to boost your metabolism so we need to boost probable vitamin/mineral deficiencies - 2 capsules daily.
It is also necessary to begin taking Ox Bile to replace the concentrated form of bile that you have not had for 7 years.
Please understand that not everything needs to be fixed independently, because staying on this plan of action may have many of your present concerns self correct.

Just want to ask you if I can take the Vitamin D3, Ox Bile, Enzymes and the Liver Reset all together.
Thank you.
Livatone Plus is best taken at a dose of 2 capsules twice daily with or without food.
Digestive enzymes and Ox Bile are to be taken during each meal to improve protein digestion.
Vitamin D is best taken mid-morning with some fatty food to improve its absorption.

You seem to be experiencing many of the vitamin deficiencies that tend to occur after Gallbladder removal because you are no longer to absorb fat soluble vitamins easily.
Bile has many functions and one of these is to act as a disinfectant in the large bowel allowing non beneficial bacteria to proliferate. Your present diet may not be as liver friendly as needed if you are experiencing pain and discomfort under your right ribs.
Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program provides a liver friendly anti-inflammatory diet with body corrective supplements.
Everyone who has their Gallbladder removed require a supply of concentrated bile when fats and fat soluble vitamins are consumed.
Many of your symptoms are indicative of low thyroid activity, and Dr Cabot prescribes Thyroid Health Capsules - 1 capsule twice daily.

We have an article about a woman diagnosed with Cirrhosis being able to resolve the damage (because it was really severe Fatty Liver).
We offer you the same advice and ask you to undertake Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Detox and Maintenance Plan.
Supplements are also beneficial and we recommend Livatone Plus, Vitamin C, and Ox Bile (which you have needed since your Gallbladder was removed).
This style of eating may also make weight loss easier than it may have been in the past.

It is often the case that the problem is the liver and this remains when the Gallbladder is removed.
When there is no Gallbladder it is difficult to absorb good dietary fats so the stool has more than usual concentration of fats and results in far more urgency.
During each meal have 1 to 2 capsules of Ox Bile to correct the imbalance.
Liver cysts often appear when high carbohydrate or processed food diets are eaten.
Livatone Plus and NAC are recommended for best liver health.

Heard that thyroid is fat soluble and need bile salts so going to take ox bile.
Any other recommendations for gallbladder connection to thyroid and hormones and pregnancy?
Milk thistle. Dandelion.
Thanks
Although you have not mentioned it, this symptom picture is often seen in those with intestinal inflammation which may have been responsible for the Gallbladder problems that made its removal necessary.
An underactive thyroid may have be associated with your miscarriages, and female hormonal imbalance may also have been implicated.
Thyroid hormone is not fat soluble, it is a well absorbed protein hormone to be taken either in the middle of the night or early each morning at least ½ an hour before eating or drinking.
The fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K are poorly absorbed if there is not a source of concentrated bile.
These vitamins are also very important for best possible metabolism and healthy pregnancies.
Everyone who has had their Gallbladder removed is advised to take 1 to 2 capsules of Ox Bile during each meal.
If you are already taking milk thistle and dandelion we recommend you begin also taking Livatone Plus.

You are very perceptive as there is a definite link.
Psoriasis is autoimmune and as such you would have to have a tendency to these conditions for this development.
Many people with psoriasis are vitamin D deficient and as a fat soluble vitamin, it requires bile for efficient absorption.
After Gall Bladder removal your body has no way to produce the concentrated bile necessary for this.
It is necessary to increase blood Vitamin D levels. Ensure you obtain sufficient exposure to summer sun every year without sunscreens, and exposing your psoriasis lesions to sunlight daily helps resolve them considerably.
You can take Vitamin D daily with fish oil capsules and an Ox Bile capsule to effectively raise your blood levels during the fall/winter months.
Ox Bile is very beneficial for the body to remove liver metabolites, assist with the absorption of all fat soluble vitamins and also a disinfectant for the large bowel to restrict the growth of dysbiotic species of microbes.
