Your Skin Reflects Your Liver
Not many of us relate the outer glow of our complexion to our liver health. Over many years I have come to understand the tremendous importance of our liver function to our appearance.
Your liver is the metabolic factory of your body, producing energy to sustain the thousands of functions performed every minute by all of your body’s cells.
Your hair follicles need energy to grow strong shiny hair and your skin cells require energy to eliminate toxins and repair and regenerate themselves. Your heart requires energy to pump blood efficiently to your skin to maintain collagen production and oxygenate the cells to protect them from aging.
If your liver is not doing its job of breaking down toxins efficiently, they must be eliminated from your body by other means – in many cases they come out through your skin!
When excessive toxins build up in the deeper layers of the skin this causes inflammation to occur and this can manifest as:
- Dermatitis
- Eczema
- Premature aging and wrinkling of the skin
- Brown liver spots which make you look older
- Red itchy rashes anywhere in your body
- Deep painful rashes which may lead to ulcers
- Hives
- Psoriasis
- Acne
- Acne rosacea – this causes small red pimples which affect the cheeks, the chin and area around the nose and small yellow heads may occur on the top of the pimples.
I have often found that worsening skin problems are a sign of liver dysfunction or of future liver problems on the horizon.
There are thousands of different types of skin problems and an accurate diagnosis often requires a consultation with a skin specialist or dermatologist. Sometimes it is very difficult to pinpoint why a patient has chronic skin problems and for this reason these problems can be difficult to treat effectively.
Most conventional treatments for skin problems use creams and/or drugs to suppress the rash or the underlying problem with the immune system; but in the long term these strong medications have side effects and that is why I prefer to look deeper and treat the cause (usually the liver and the immune system) with nutritional medicine.
It’s more logical and scientific to treat the deeper causes of these skin problems than it is to suppress the symptoms – don’t you agree?
If the skin is treated with strong steroid creams or antihistamine drugs to stop the rash, the toxins are suppressed deeper into the body and cannot escape through the skin; this may cause health problems to appear on a deeper level in the future.
Steroid creams should only be used intermittently for short periods of time. Long term use of steroid creams causes loss of collagen in the skin resulting in thinning and wrinkling of the skin.
Generally acne rosacea is treated with antibiotic drugs, which do not work very well and if used long term will make your liver unhealthy and possibly damage your liver seriously.
The vast majority of skin problems can be helped with a natural approach
- A good liver tonic such as Livatone Plus is vital to support the liver’s ability to detoxify and eliminate.
- Your liver has a high requirement for the antioxidants found in vegetables, particularly leafy greens. Antioxidants help to protect your liver cells from damage while they are detoxifying your bloodstream. The antioxidants in vegetables also help to protect your skin cells from free radicals, and therefore premature aging. Ideally you would consume one or two large vegetable salads each day. Some of the vegetables you consume should be raw.
- Omega 3 supplements – either fish oil or vegan DHA. Some chronic skin problems, such as very dry skin, dermatitis or psoriasis require large doses of fish oil – doses vary from two to four capsules three times daily just before food. Fish oil does thin the blood, so please check with your doctor if you are taking blood thinning medication.
- Selenium – this can be taken as – one tablet daily or Selenomune capsules - one capsule daily. Selenium is a mineral that exerts anti-inflammatory effects in the body and is necessary for the production of the antioxidant glutathione.
These nutritional supplements can reduce inflammation in the skin and support the detoxification pathways in the liver.
Raw juices are another tool to clear the skin and I recommend you juice citrus, pear, carrot, kale, mint, basil, apple and cabbage. You can make a whole week’s supply of juice at one time and freeze it in glass jars with a lid on top immediately after making it. Don’t forget to leave space at the top of the jar as the juice will expand when it freezes! You need approximately 200mls or 7 ounces daily. Check out my Raw Juices Can Save Your Life book.
If you think your skin is aging too rapidly because of loss of collagen you should try Biocell Collagen capsules. Biocell Collagen is a patented type 11 collagen compound derived from soft chicken sternal cartilage which is the richest and purest source of type 1 collagen and the patented process makes it highly absorbable. The dose is one to two grams daily to exert its anti-aging effect and joint protective effects.
Other factors which may cause skin rashes and inflammation are food intolerance, particularly gluten intolerance. Gluten can worsen or trigger autoimmune diseases such as lupus which can then attack your skin. I have cured many skin problems just by putting my patients of a gluten free diet!
The other cause of skin rashes is imbalances in your nervous system and this is not surprising as during development of the human embryo, the skin is formed from the same stem cells as the nervous system. Thus you can expect that factors which upset your nervous system will manifest as skin problems.
Stress, unresolved emotional conflicts, suppression of emotions, lack of sleep or excess alcohol intake will overload your nervous system and may manifest as recurrent skin problems. Try to get more sleep and talk to friends and family to ease your burden. Magnesium supplements can help you to cope with stress and that’s why I call magnesium The Great Relaxer!

Thanks to this website I lost weight and my liver function improved beyond belief. I feel more energized, happier and the transformation in my health has been nothing short of a miracle. I not only feel 100 times better, but I barely need to take any insulin at all anymore.
I am 23F and about a year ago removed my Mirena IUD. I have high DHEA-S, low Vitamin D and towards lower end ferritin. I have high methylation activity as well. I am currently experiencing fatigue, hairloss, bloating, brainfog, itchy skin behind ears and lower part of scalp near neck, irritable, moodiness, forgetful, get tired if I eat too many carbs in one sitting or don’t eat digestive enzyme in some cases. Any advice :)
Thank you!!
We recommend reading this article:https://www.liverdoctor.com/the-most-common-nutrient-deficiency-in-the-world-could-be-causing-your-fatigue/
Several of your mentioned symptoms can be caused by an iron deficiency.
It's important you increase your vitamin D level and perhaps look at taking an iron supplement.

We are pleased to read that your fibroscan score is now lower than it was in 2019.
Dr Cabot’s Livatone Plus contains a synergistic formulation for best interaction for liver function and health and 2 capsules twice daily is the best therapeutic dose.
NAC is beneficial as it is an important precursor to Glutathione, which is the body’s strongest antioxidant to reduce the inflammation in your liver, take 2 capsules twice daily with a large glass of water to avoid stomach distress.
Selenium is still needed in larger amounts and 1 capsule is sufficient.
Diet is also very important when considering inflammation and we recommend Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program.

Did the congenital heart condition mean you had to take medications that may have contributed to your liver fibrosis?
What is the nature of your heart condition?

Do you know what has caused the fibrosis, because 21 is very young to have such a problem.

The increasing number of sensitivities seems to be an indication of digestive concerns and liver dysfunction.
Although 2 weeks of olive oil and green vegetables cleared the problem, this is not a long term nutritional proposition.
Rather, we recommend you follow a diet without dairy, gluten, sugar, very low in starchy foods, with moderate amounts of high quality protein, lots of green leafy vegetables and at least 2 ½ pints of filtered water each day.
Supplements are also necessary and we recommend Livatone Plus, NAC, Super Digestive Enzymes, and Ultimate Gut Health powder.

We agree with you that the liver is also requiring attention, as is your stomach.
There are components of the gut powder you are taking that may be quite inflammatory in some people so we hope it agrees with you.
Dr Cabot’s Ultimate Gut Health is very well tolerated.
Livatone Plus, NAC and Ox Bile are clearly indicated for the itchy patches.
Crepey skin is often a sign of poor protein digestion and absorption and it is often this that causes Leaky Gut.
Protein digestion requires sufficient stomach acid and digestive enzymes.

Ps.... Oh yes I smoke,
soooo yeahhh I might need some extra... Thanks again.
As the three of you all have similar health concerns, we recommend you begin with your home environment, diet and lifestyle.
These can make a lot of difference to health and wellbeing.
Juices can certainly be an important part of a well-balanced diet.
Your daughters may also have a Leaky Gut so an intestine friendly supplement is very important for all of you.
Good fats and high-quality protein are essential for good skin and hair, and conversely damaged fats, margarine and all processed foods are best removed from your diets.
To help your liver, the best thing is to start each day with the juice of ½ a lemon in warm water, and then rinse the mouth to remove the acid from all your teeth, some magnesium powder may cut the sourness and be very good for the metabolism.
For you we recommend you also begin taking Ox Bile to help with your digestive symptoms.
The girls may benefit from daily Cod Liver Oil, but this is contraindicated for you as a smoker.
For you we recommend NAC for your lung health.

I have been prescribed Roaccutane for cystic acne that I have had for approx 20 years. Do you suggest taking Livatone to support my liver while on this medication? I am vegan and eat well for a healthy liver and have stopped any alcohol intake while on the medication.
Roaccutane has been associated with sometimes severe liver damage, so ensure your doctor is monitoring your liver function closely.
For liver protection Dr Cabot prescribes Livatone Plus, and NAC.
Zinc deficiency is also often associated with acne outbreaks.
As you are looking after the insides, you may also find rinsing your face in a 10% Colloidal Silver solution helps to reduce the bacteria that causes acne.

I have had folliculitis on my scalp for the last 20 years. I have tried literally everything to get rid of it and nothing works. I started taking supplements (curcumin, Omega 3s, Vit C, B, D, K and nothing works. I've tried every cream known to man including CBD. I got off gluten years ago which helped a little bit. When a doctor prescribed steroids, the condition on my scalp would instantly disappear. So I know it's definitely a liver condition. Is there anything that you would recommend? Thank you for your time.
Knowing that your scalp condition was suppressed with steroids makes us think that it is unlikely to be bacterial or fungal but much more likely to be an autoimmune condition.
The fact that removing gluten helped your condition points more to an autoimmune condition, and more permanent relief may be gained by improving your overall gut health.
You may gain benefit from the diet included with Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program.
When the digestive tract is inflamed, which leads to Leaky Gut, the liver suffers and supplementation is necessary.
Dr Cabot prescribes Livatone Plus, NAC, Ultimate Gut Health and Selenomune.

My naturopath for my issues. But the trend is my skin will break out hormonally on the right sight of my face and then if I get too itchy it’s red and bumpy pimples on the entire left side of my face. Feeling super lost! Having intuition that it’s either food intolerances or my liver. At first I thought it was hitsmaines but now I’m not so sure? Thank you!
Whatever is causing your Leaky Gut may be promoting liver congestion or Fatty Liver which leads to a situation where your liver cannot deal with all the metabolites of digestion and spent hormones and these toxins are dispersed to the skin to be discharged from the body.
These tend to be acidic and cause considerable itching, which is different to the effects of histamines.
Dietary changes to heal your gut are encouraged and Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program is well indicated for a healthy, intact digestive tract.
For your liver Dr Cabot prescribes Livatone Plus, NAC and Ox Bile.

Eczema is an indication of intestinal inflammation and an overactive immune system being reflected in the skin.
It is often what is removed from the diet rather than what is added.
You are recommended to ensure all dairy foods are removed from your diet and if you must have pizza at all, then to ensure it and all baked goods are gluten free.
To further soothe, heal and calm your digestive tract to reduce your skin’s reactivity, Dr Cabot prescribes Ultimate Gut Health, selenium, NAC. Vitamin D, and Zinc.

I am a 27 year old female who has been suffering from recurrent UTIs and constipation for a few years now and my skin has changed from my normal fair skin to yellow. When I changed my diet I noticed a slight improvement in the UTIs and constipation, however my skin just seems to be getting darker all over my body and face. I look really sick even though I eat very clean and exercise regularly. I have also been getting bad abdominal pains and have no colour in my lips. I look like I’m dying even though all my blood tests show everything is normal. I am on accutane currently due to a facial causing my skin to react very badly, however my skin colour change has occurred way before I started accutane, therefore it is not as a result of that. Do you think I could have gallbladder stones? Would you recommend doing a gallbladder flush? Do you recommend acupuncture? Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you
The changes to your skin indicate liver involvement and the least invasive way to determine whether there is liver disease and see if gallstones are present is to have an ultrasound.
Your acne may well be related to your liver concerns. Follow the advice in this article, taking the supplements and ensuring moderate daily exercise in conjunction with an anti-inflammatory diet and maintenance program. Gall flushes without an ultrasound are not recommended because you could end up with a stone lodged in your CBD and you in ED having your gallbladder removed in an emergency operation, if you do have gallstones.
Acupuncture may be very worthwhile to clear any energy blockage along your liver meridian.

These are results expected with moderate to high Fatty Liver in the absence of either HCV or HBV infection.
It is important to remove the items that have contributed to your considerable liver disease.
Any alcohol is to be removed, carbohydrate rich food is to be cut to a bear minimum and fresh vegetables and protein to become your staple foods.
If you are able, we recommend you begin Dr Cabot’s very successful 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Plan. Supplements are important and Dr Cabot prescribes Livatone Plus, Serrapeptase and Vitamin E to hasten repair of your liver to its best possible function.

I have suffered with eczema since I was a baby (I am 18 now). Since the beginning of the year it flared up extremely badly on my eyelids (top and bottom), my lips, scalp and my neck. I have tried every prescribed and over the counter eczema cream you can think of - it only seems to exacerbate it. I have also been prescribed an anti-fungal cream in case it was fungal based but it did not help. I've tried oral steroids which worked whilst I was on them and as soon as I stopped it came back even worse. I've also been on an extremely high does of anti-histamines for months which didn't work. I'm beginning to wonder if a liver detox will help. What do you think? Please let me know.
You may find that your digestive system is inflamed and this is being reflected in your skin. The liver is an important organ of the digestive system and everything that is eaten passes through the liver and when these are causing inflammation it means the liver has to work much harder to perform its important duties.
Diet and lifestyle changes can often make amazing difference to skin conditions as well as supplementation, and you are recommended to undertake Dr Cabot’s 15 Day Cleanse and Maintenance Program.

Eczema is often an indication of Leaky Gut Syndrome; but the length of time you have had your skin condition and that it appeared during pregnancy may indicate psoriasis.
As the article says there are many skin conditions and they can be treated in a similar way.
Combining diet, lifestyle and supplementation can reverse your present skin condition.
To make a fuss free switch to a low inflammatory diet, we are delighted to let you know that Dr Cabot’s highly acclaimed 15 Day Cleanse is available and provides you with two weeks to begin your journey toward improved overall health and function, utilising both supplements and a tasty, easy to prepare dietary regimen. After completing the Cleanse, we recommend you remain on this style of eating and you can then begin the Maintenance Program.
To modulate and support your immune system Dr Cabot prescribes
Selenomune Designer Energy - 1 capsule daily, to increase your selenium levels to lower autoimmune antibody levels and reduce autoimmune disease activity.
Vitamin D 5,000iu – 1 capsule daily. Please have a Vitamin D blood test to ensure this dose is sufficient.
Please consider having both blood tests and an abdominal ultrasound to determine the functional health of your liver, pancreas, kidneys and spleen.

Rosacea is a sign of poor liver function, and this may indeed be the case if you were not monitored closely for liver damage while taking this medication.
It is most fortunate that the liver is such a forgiving organ and is designed to repair itself regularly.

You have done so much for your baby by removing so many of the more common inflammogens found in most diets. You say that his skin flares occasionally. This gives the hint that there may be something coming into contact with his digestive tract and causing digestive inflammation and the resulting skin condition.
Which solids have you introduced to his diet?
Glutamine in very low doses, ¼ teaspoon in water may begin healing his gut lining and this may be reflected by fewer eczema flares.https://www.liverdoctor.com//glutamine-plus-colostrum-powder-500grams.html
Sunshine is very good for eczema, and your son is recommended to have a short sun bath daily.
What foods are you eating at the moment, so we can help you choose different foods to remove to help your son’s health.
Celery juice may encourage toxin removal from your body and these may be transferred to your breast milk, so I am not recommending this at the moment.

I have had eczema my whole life, but over the last 2 years it has changed (I still have dry skin and itchiness) but I have very bumpy skin all over apart from my face. They look like goosebumps nut can temporarily smooth out (which is why I dont think it is keratosis pilaris) ive been to so many doctors and derms, tried so many creams and diets and I cant seem to get to the bottom of it :( I learnt about tsw in December and immediately came off steroids after using them my whole life...withdrawal was awful at first but my skin s actually now better than when I used them. Have you come across this bumpy skin before? Thank you so much
It seems your body is reacting differently to whatever is inflaming your gut, to cause the eczema. We have not had experience with eczema related bumpy skin before.

Thanks for your comment.
Our skin is a major detox pathway so supporting the liver is vital. Removing alcohol from your diet was a great first step - well done.
You also need to follow a liver-friendly diet- remove processed foods, high carbohydrate foods and refined sugars from your diet and replace them with lots of vegetables (the cruciferous variety are particularly good), herbs and spices, nuts and seeds, healthy fats like olive oil and avocodo and first class protein like chicken, lamb, fish and eggs.
We recommend:
- Livatone Plus: 1-2 capsules twice daily to support liver health.https://www.liverdoctor.com/livatone-plus.html
- Hair, Skin & Nails food: To improve the appearance and integrity of your skin:https://www.liverdoctor.com/hair-skin-nails-food-60-capsules.html
Topically, some strategies include:
- Bentonite clay face mask 1-2 times per week to absorb excess oils and toxins from the skin.
- Coffee scrub: Simply mix coffee grounds with coconut oil and scrub your face once a week to remove dead skin cells and oil and improve appearance.
- Honey and oat mask once weekly to sooth the skin, antimicrobial properties and can help with excess oil.
- Avoid using harsh cleansers / soaps / toners on your face. Instead opt for natural, chemical-free varieties. Witch hazel acts as a good toner.
All the best,
Louise
Skin rashes in general can be a symptom of liver dysfunction.
As you have a borderline fatty liver we would recommend the following:
- Livatone Plus – 2 capsules twice daily, to improve liver function.
- N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC 600mg) – 1 to 2 capsules twice daily well away from food, if any upset occurs take at the beginning of your meals. This works well with Livatone Plus to get your liver better faster. This supplement is the precursor nutrient of glutathione; the body’s strongest anti-oxidant and potent detoxifier.
As you have had your gallbladder removed, you may also benefit from supplementing with Super Digestive Enzymes and Ox Bile capsules.
We also recommend that you follow a liver friendly diet. This free ebook has great info:https://www.liverdoctor.com/the-vital-principles-of-liver-cleansing-free-download/

For people with autoimmune disease and inflammation we recommend removing all gluten and dairy products from the diet. Ingesting small amounts can chronically over stimulate the immune system. Some people also have other food sensitivities to gluten free grains, legumes, nuts or eggs. An elimination diet can help. There is a lot of helpful information in our book called Healing Autoimmune Disease.

Second, my older son (5 years old) has had eczema (not severe itchy all the time, but no red patches) since he was 7 months and dry skin. I have cut out gluten from his diet but not dairy. We noticed that his skin would clear up when he got sick (and only ate soup). I feel like he might have a sluggish liver because of family history and I don’t want him to have problems in the future. Besides cutting out dairy and gluten, are there things I can give him that will make his liver stronger? Thank you!
Thank you for your enquiry/email.
Unfortunately, St Mary’s Thistle has insufficient research to determine if it is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding so we would not be recommending Livatone Plus for your liver dysfunction, but we are delighted to let you know that Dr Cabot has recently released her 15 Day Cleanse - Two weeks to begin your journey toward improved overall health and function, utilising both supplements and a tasty, easy to prepare dietary regimen. Your older son is advised to have gluten, dairy, legumes, damaged fats and processed foods eliminated from his diet. He is very likely to have Leaky Gut which tends to result in damage to the intestinal tissue and dysbiosis in the gut. This is evidenced by the reaction to a restricted diet as when he is unwell.

Most IUDs have a hormone basis and may result in the occurrence of acne, although the incidence of this side effect is not common.
With what you have told us, you are on an OCP, an IUD, and now spirolactone.
Now that you have had all these procedures, we would expect the bleeding to be considerably reduced, and it may be the IUD that is causing the acne so if you have it removed you may no longer need to use the spirolactone.
It may be an overmedication issue, which can induce liver congestion.
There may be an hormonal issue from the liberal prescription of synthetic hormones that have led to a skin condition.
If your heavy bleeding returns, please contact us for effective advice.

How old is your son?

Jessah Robinson

Also, what would be your recommendation to help a 1 year old baby with eczema? How would I help my son detox/cleanse his liver?
Thank you!
Eliminating dairy includes raw, A2 milk as dairy milk can be inflammatory and affects the liver detoxification and may be inducing your son’s eczema.
Although children have different dietary needs to adults, a child with eczema, has digestive concerns. If he is still being breast fed, then mum need’s to remove the dairy foods.
We recommend you remove all dairy foods from his diet and introduce bone broth at least three times daily, to provide minerals and healing nutrients to his digestive system.
Juices are also beneficial and an equal mix of vegetables and fruits will provide both high minerals and vitamins and ensure good energy reserves to boost his growth.
If solids have been introduced, we strongly recommend that any processed infant foods are removed and no gluten containing foods be offered to him.

Thank you.
I have often found that worsening skin problems are a sign of liver dysfunction or of future liver problems on the horizon.
We invite you to download Dr Cabot's free e-book on Liver Cleansing:https://www.liverdoctor.com/the-vital-principles-of-liver-cleansing-free-download/
It will provide excellent dietary advice for supporting healthy liver function.
We recommend you take
Livatone Plus 1 cap twice daily to support the liver’s ability to detoxify and eliminate.
Selenomune capsules – one capsule daily. Selenium is a mineral that exerts anti-inflammatory effects in the body and is necessary for the production of the antioxidant glutathione.
These can be purchased here:https://shop.liverdoctor.com
Raw juices are another tool to clear the skin and I recommend you juice citrus, pear, carrot, kale, mint, basil, apple and cabbage. You can make a whole week’s supply of juice at one time and freeze it in glass jars with a lid on top immediately after making it. Don’t forget to leave space at the top of the jar as the juice will expand when it freezes! You need approximately 200mls or 7 ounces daily. Check out my Raw Juices Can Save Your Life book.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition and it is often accompanied by low Vitamin D.

After completing the Cleanse, we recommend you remain on this style of eating and you can then begin the Maintenance plan that is available at the same website.
Supplementation is to benefit your condition, lower antibody levels and allow you a life with few flares, and Dr Cabot prescribes
Selenomune Designer Energy - 1 capsule daily to increase your selenium levels to lower autoimmune antibody levels and reduce autoimmune disease activity.
Vitamin D 5,000iu – 1 capsule daily. Please have a Vitamin D blood test to ensure this dose is sufficient.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC 600mg) – 1 to 2 capsules twice daily well away from food, if any upset occurs take at the beginning of your meals. Research indicates this is indicated and very helpful for those with psoriasis.

Dr Cabot says your symptoms appear to be an autoimmune skin disease with liver involvement. Did you have an infection or severe stress before symptoms began?
The foods you are eating may be at the base of your problems overall, and you may be able to obtain considerable relief from your stomach problems by removing all gluten containing foods from your diet. This is the protein found in wheat, rye, barley and oats.
As well as removing all gluten from your diet, Dr Cabot prescribes
Livatone Plus – 1 to 2 capsules twice daily, to improve liver function.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC 600mg) – 1 to 2 capsules twice daily well away from food, if any upset occurs take at the beginning of your meals. This supplement works well with Livatone Plus to get your liver better faster.
MSM + Vitamin C – ½ to 1 teaspoon twice daily in vegetable juice or water to reduce oxidation, inflammation and boost liver health.
You may purchase these supplements and Dr Cabot’s books athttps://shop.liverdoctor.com/

If it is autoimmune, it tends to be a life long affliction but you can live without symptoms if you ensure you have the anti-inflammatory diet and take the supplements we recommended earlier.
For an accurate diagnosis, you need to see a doctor and have further testing.
Our response was in line with the symptoms you included in your post.

I also lately have indigestion problems, heartburn with always being tired and an uncomfortable pain on the crop of my tummy. I also feel nausea. Could this be liver related and what steps should i start to eliminate the problem. The doctor gave me some kortisone this cleared it but as soon as tablets are finish it starts all over again.
We recommend you read this article:https://www.liverdoctor.com/things-you-must-know-you-dont-have-gallbladder/

I Have had a recurring rash very rarely itchy, red spots under skin , some bigger purple and brown spots
mostly on forearms, with a burning sensation over entire body, and at times cannot have anything touching
my skin which causes more of a burning sensation, this all began when I had a over exposure to natural
gas and crude oil, have had one allergy test for food allergy , I still feel the toxins in the oil and gas has
started the issues , I work in the oil and gas industry , and have been trying to stay away from as much as possible have been on presindone twice and seen numerous doctors
Unfortunately exposure to petrochemicals can initiate autoimmune skin disease in genetically susceptible individuals.
Selenium, vitamin D and glutamine are all wonderful for reducing inflammation. There is a lot of information that should help you in this book:http://shop.liverdoctor.com/healing-autoimmune-disease.html

I started taking Milk thistle (since 40 days ago, at a really low dose of 100-150 mg once a day) to clean my liver and kidneys in an attempt to lower b12 level but it is causing me inflammation in my GI system, extreme fatigue, over dry skin, and insomnia. I read all of this symptoms are because of the detox this is causing. Should I stop taking it for a while and start again in a few weeks? or what do you think?. Thank you.
We have sent you an email.
About three weeks into this diet I noticed a rash on both sides of my body aroundd the hips, this has faded slightly but now it is on the outside of both thighs and venturing down my legs...it has also been on my back and a few on my arms.
I believe from reading the abov article that this could be my liver detoxing. I am drinking lots of wAtee, cut out coffee which I used to have 3 to 4. Cups a day. I know drink lemon juice with hot water and a 1/4 teaspoon of Manuka honey.
However the rash is still there. Would this be detox and ridding my body of toxins? I have never had allergies before or any skin problems.
I bought a bottle of liver cleanse tonic which I hope is helping my liver. I am worried that the rash could be something else or my liver not functioning properally.
Any help much appreciated
It's difficult to say, but we would recommend taking the Livatone Plus.
We recommend seeing your healthcare practitioner and getting a liver function test.

Just last year I got diagnosed with gout. Can you please help and recommend what I need to do to get my life back on track? I have a desk job as an occupation, I do get uneasiness in my right rib cage due to fatty liver. What diet should I be on? I am 5foot6inches and weigh around 66kilos I have lost around 6kikos recently as I have cut down on junk food and overeating. I would really love to have an ideal weight of 72kilos but have muscle mass with a really healthy liver that is working and doing its job at its optimal level and not feeling lethargic.
