A few years ago I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and osteoarthritis in my right hand and thumb. I work as a computer graphic artist and use a computer mouse every day and I was finding that my right hand and wrist ached - not only when I was doing my work but for hours and hours after I had finished.

I advised my employers of my injury and they ensured that I immediately began the relevant “traditional” medical treatment. This included changing the mouse I used to a more ergonomic one, visits to general practitioners, hand specialists, x-rays, physiotherapists, wrist braces and even a hand surgeon. Needless to say all of this was overwhelming. The thought that, potentially in the near future, I would have to have my dominant hand operated on just so it could continue to work was frightening.

Because my hand and, in particular, the area at the base of my thumb was so swollen and sore I found it almost impossible to do most things with it. Apart from not being able to do my work properly, I also could not enjoy my leisure time activities - no more gardening, could not lift my grandchildren up into my arms, could not lift pots and pans in the kitchen or use knives, etc. I was starting to feel quite depressed at the thought of all the things that I could not (and probably would not ever) do again.

During my many visits to my doctor, he suggested that I try cortisone shots directly into my thumb area - he said these would help with inflammation and take the pain away for a while at least. I told him I would think about it and let him know. He seemed quite shocked when next I saw him and told him that I would not consider doing this! I had done some research on cortisone injections and found many stories on how these had only ended up making the problem much worse. “Well then,” said my doctor, “you will just have to use painkillers to manage the pain and discomfort you are experiencing because there is nothing else I can suggest at this time. You will more than likely need surgery within the next few years so just do the best you can until then to manage the pain.”

At this stage I felt very depressed and quite hopeless in regards to ever really getting much use of my hand back. I knew that painkillers of any kind were also not for me - they would have a negative effect on my life, my moods, my ability to drive and, most of all, my motivation to move forward with all of the things I had planned for this part of my life.

Here is where providence stepped in . . .  while talking to my friend, I told her how things were with my injured hand and how down I was feeling now that all of the “traditional” things had not worked to help with pain and movement. Her advice was to think outside the square and to try alternative medicine. My friend had heard about a product called serrapeptase and said that it might be worth trying.

I did some research and found lots of information on the internet about serrapeptase - to be honest, I was very excited by all I was reading because this looked like the answer to my prayers. I found that Liver Doctor had this “miracle enzyme” available in a capsule and I had some sent to me. I started taking the serrapeptase capsules and continued to hope and pray that this was going to work. Having been advised that this is not likely to be a quick fix, I was prepared to accept that any relief I may get from the serrapeptase could take up to six weeks.

Waking up on the 11th day after I started taking serrapeptase, I distinctly remember saying to my partner that I could definitely feel a positive difference in my hand and thumb. The pain seemed less than I was used to feeling each morning, I had more movement in the thumb joint itself and I did not remember waking during the night with my hand aching (as it had been doing for months and months). I felt like I had some hope back - I had not expected to feel any improvement so quickly!

It is now many months later and I continue to take serrapeptase every day. I have full use of my hand and thumb and still work as a computer graphic artist and this is all thanks to the miracle that is serrapeptase. Before I started to take this, I was looking at losing the full use of my hand and thumb, potentially having to find another type of work to do (and I love my job!), not being able to do many activities in my work and home life and having to give up my dream of learning to ride a motorbike!

I feel so lucky to have found a product which not only helped heal my hand (and much better than I could have ever imagined) but also knowing that this miracle enzyme is cleaning out my arteries (I had previously smoked for almost 30 years) and getting rid of inflammation in my body is an added bonus!

Thanks Liver Doctor! I have used your wonderful LivaTone Plus product for years and recommend it to all my family and friends and now I can do the same with your serrapeptase capsules. I really can see a bright future now and am so grateful for all of the advice and assistance that your talented naturopaths and staff have offered me.

If you know anyone who is living with pain I urge you to tell them about serrapeptase. This miracle enzyme has given me my life and hope back.
