Today I’d like to update you on my patient Helen who I saw several weeks ago. You can read about her original story here. I felt very sad for Helen when I first saw her because she was extremely stressed. Poor eating was just a consequence of the stress and chaos in her life at the time.

Research Proves Fatty Liver Is Best Cured With A Low Carb Diet

Helen really made an effort to improve her diet. She realised that she hadn’t been eating anywhere near enough for breakfast or lunch, therefore was ravenous later in the day. Helen always cooked a healthy dinner comprised of protein and vegetables. She decided to cook double the amount of food in the evening, to give her leftovers to eat the next day.

Helen said “As you suggested, I significantly increased my portions of meat, eggs, chicken and fish. I was amazed at how that helped my constant hunger. I’ve since realised it’s not normal to feel that hungry every day”. Helen also added more healthy fats to her diet including avocado, olive oil and the fat on the beef and lamb she ate.

Getting her blood sugar level under control was also critical for reducing cravings for carbohydrate. Helen said “The Glicemic Balance capsules really helped me. Now when I look at cookies and chocolate in the supermarket I think it would be nice but I don’t have to buy any today. I take one day at a time and make it my goal to eat well today. Previously I felt like I wouldn’t be able to get through the day if I didn’t have some sugar”.

The magnesium that Helen had been taking improved her sleep quality significantly. Helen said “I actually wake up in a good mood now because I wake feeling refreshed. It’s so much easier to cope with what I need to do each day when I wake up feeling good”.

Helen wasn’t always perfect with her diet. There were days when she told me she was too physically and emotionally exhausted to look after herself properly, but those days were now rare. Helen’s overall outlook on life was brighter and she was thrilled with the weight loss she managed to achieve. She had lost 7 pounds and dropped one clothing size. Her waist had become smaller and that made it so much more comfortable to clean her mother’s house and just general physical activities.

Helen’s blood sugar level was no longer hovering dangerously close to diabetes and that comforted her and motivated her to keep trying her best. When measuring her blood sugar level, Helen saw for herself the dramatic improvements from taking berberine capsules. On days she wasn’t perfect with her diet, berberine kept her blood sugar in the normal range.

I will be consulting with Helen once a month for some time. She said it keeps her motivated and on track with improved eating habits.
