Gluten and Dairy Free Hazelnut Cookies

These delicious cookies make an ideal high energy snack for kids.


  • 1 cup hazelnut meal (you can substitute almond meal if you can’t find hazelnut meal)
  • 1/3 cup hazelnut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons macadamia nut oil (or coconut oil or ghee)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup



  • Preheat the oven to 355 degrees F.
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir well.
  • Roll the mixture into tablespoon sized pieces, shape into cookies and place on a lined oven tray.
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

If you prefer a harder cookie, you can bake them for slightly longer; keeping an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn.
