How Is Your Gut Health?
Good health begins in the gut. Your gut comprises the stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas and small and large intestines.

Even if you have a healthy diet, if your gut is not healthy, you will be unable to extract the energy and nutrients from food.

Do you have
- Bloating
- Reflux (GERD)
- Nutrient deficiencies
- Pale colored stools (feces)
- Stools that float
- Bad smelling flatulence (gas)
- Fatigue after eating a meal
- Inability to digest fat and/or protein
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Constipation
If you have these problems, it is important to see your doctor and have some tests such as an ultrasound scan of your abdomen or endoscopy.
Common causes of poor digestive function and gut health include:
- Lack of stomach hydrochloric acid
- Low bile production
- Low pancreatic enzyme production
- Unhealthy bacteria in the gut
- Leaky gut
- Fatty liver
As we get older these problems become common and this causes our health and energy to decline. Several of these causes can be present in one person and it is often difficult to know what the predominant cause is.
The intestines, stomach, liver, pancreas and gall bladder are all controlled by nerves from the autonomic nervous system which control things automatically, so you do not have to think about it. For example, it would be hard work if you had to tell your stomach “Ok make me hydrochloric acid now” or “Ok dear gall bladder, you need to give my gut a squirt of bile now.” The parasympathetic nervous system is the part of the autonomic nervous system that promotes relaxation and digestive secretions such as stomach hydrochloric acid, bile and pancreatic digestive enzymes. The parasympathetic nervous system is activated during periods of relaxation, rest, or feeding. It is critical that your digestive organs can make adequate amounts of these secretions. If they do not, you will not absorb nutrients and will be at risk of a leaky gut and unhealthy gut bacteria.

The main nerve that supplies the parasympathetic nervous system in the gut is called the vagus nerve and it is super long travelling all the way from the brain to the anus and in its travels enervates the liver, gall bladder, stomach and pancreas. If the vagus nerve is not working properly then all these digestive functions can be impaired. The vagus nerve can be damaged by viruses (especially the herpes virus), diabetes, toxins. Chronic stress will also adversely affect your vagus nerve.
I have developed my SUPER DIGESTIVE ENZYME Formula to supplement all the digestive secretions so you can be assured you have enough for your meal to be digested and absorbed.
Super Digestive Enzyme Capsules have a a Triple Action and contains:
- Full spectrum pancreatic enzymes
- Hydrochloric acid from Betaine Hydrochloride
- Ox bile
All in one capsule so we have got you covered for optimal gut function.
Take one to two capsules at the beginning of meals or in the middle of meals.
Most people see a difference within several weeks of starting the SUPER DIGESTIVE ENZYMES as they start to absorb nutrients again. Their bloating reduces, digestion improves, and bowel actions become more regular.
If you have lost your gall bladder you can add an extra ox bile capsule with the SUPER DIGESTIVE Capsule.
The consequences of poor gut function
If you do not make adequate stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes or bile you will -

- Not absorb adequate protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins or minerals
- Be more likely to have unhealthy bacteria in your gut and have gut infections
- Be more likely to have multiple nutrient deficiencies including low vitamin D, E, A and K, calcium, magnesium and zinc
- Be more likely to get osteoporosis
Poor absorption of nutrients often leads to hair loss and aging skin as well as impaired immune function.
