Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup hemp milk
  • 2 pears, chopped
  • 1 handful of pecans or almonds, chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method

  1. Rinse the quinoa in a sieve under running water until the water runs clear. Place the water, hemp milk and quinoa into a pot and heat it on the stove until it boils.
  2. Turn the heat down to a very gentle simmer. Add the chopped pears and vanilla essence.
  3. Stir frequently and cook the porridge until well thickened. You may need to add a little more milk.
  4. Serve.
