Symptoms Of Liver Damage
Liver disease is serious and requires treatment and regular monitoring by a liver specialist.
A liver specialist is known as a hepatologist and you need to be referred by your family doctor or general practitioner. Over nearly 40 years of practicing medicine I have seen many patients develop severe liver disease, which sadly could have been prevented by early detection and early referral to a hepatologist. There needs to be more awareness of liver disease so that patients can be treated early so that we can prevent cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer. Make sure you have your liver function checked annually with a blood test.
I have presented my ideas on how to help those with liver diseases using nutritional medicine, which I have been using for many years with good success rates. However, my recommendations do not replace the care of your own doctor and you should remain under the care of your own doctor whilst using nutritional therapies.

To have your detox pathways working as well as possible it is most important to have your liver functioning as efficiently as possible.
Most parasites can be detected very effectively with blood tests and raised eosinophils are a very good indication of macro parasites, These can be treated with a natural anthelminthic medication.
Intestinal Para Cleanse – 1 capsule 3 times daily for two weeks and then increase to 2 capsules 3 times daily for 2 months. Stop for a month and then restart for another 2 months.
Micro parasites like dysbiotic microbes require a different strategy, and if your system reacted adversely to a digestive enzyme supplement, you may need to heal your gut and reduce intestinal inflammation to increase your tolerance to supplementation, before beginning to actively kill these bugs.
Reduce inflammatory foods like processed foods, anything containing gluten or dairy. Legumes are also inflammatory for many people so lentils, chick peas and other beans are best avoided.
To improve detoxification and reduce inflammation please begin taking
Livatone Plus – 1 to 2 capsules twice daily, to improve liver function.
Dr Cabot’s Ultimate Gut Health – this supplement is designed to keep your intestines as healthy as possible. Designed to soothe, heal and restore the gut lining, you will find your intestines love this powder. Dr Cabot Ultimate Gut Health supports better digestion and favorable and healthy gut bacteria. Helpful for acidity, reflux, bloating, sensitive gut, sluggish bowels and leaky gut. One scoopful once to twice daily away from food. Just before bed is a very good time to take second dose.
Kind regards

Many of your symptoms sound like they may be autoimmune related. Is your facial rash in the shape of a butterfly? This can be a sign of Lupus. The rash is very specific to the disease. So much that it can determine a diagnosis. I
would STRONGLY suggest delaying the liver cleanse until you have a diagnosis. You may experience severe liver damage if it is not appropriate for your condition. I am a firm believer of holistic medicine. However, I think it is very important to know what is wrong with you before you apply naturopathic treatments.
If I were in your shoes, I would find a Rheumatologist ASAP. (and a gastroenterologist) A reumatologist will help you determine if your immune system is involved.
If you can't find a doctor in your area, drive however far you need to. You do NOT have to feel this way. You must take your health care into your own hands. (Also, while you are in the process of finding an allopathic doctor, I would go to an acupuncturist. If you do some research, you will find that it is very effective for chronic illnesses. I don't know how I would survive without it).
I didn't write to you to advertise my blog, but you might want to read this:

It is a guide to surviving chronic illness. I hope it will inspire you to take the bull by the horns and get better!

I feel sorry that you were never advised that you could fix your problem naturally. I was told to remove my gallbladder as I was having severe gallbladder and liver symptoms. No chance. Found this natural alternative and I am back to normal after many flushes. Good luck.

Let me know... I know this will fix you. It will take some time but you will feel better everytime you do the flush. Any questions just ask.

What you described is what I'm currently experiencing and would love the information on what type of flushes you're doing. Please pass along the information, as it would be greatly appreciated!
Approx 12 months ago I noticed an unusual pain in my upper right abdomen that radiates through to my back......I abused my body for a couple of years with some pretty intense alcohol intake due to stresses of life (won't go into the detail) I decided to quit alcohol and subsequently the pains faded and all seemed fine, I then decided to start treating myself to a few strong drink a night after work....the symptoms of pain in the abdomen and my back came back but we're very intermittent...I decided to visit my GP and explained my issues and concerns. I was sent for an ultrasound scan to see if I had a fatty liver (results fine) blood tests (results fine) endoscopy (results fine) chest X-ray as I had intemittent breathing issues (results fine).....anyway I continued to drink significant amounts and noticed my stools were starting to appear loose on occasions with literally no smell to them and they were more yellow than brown.....I also on rare occasions noticed fresh blood after going to the toilet (very rare) in the last 3 months I've noticed I have a constant nausea feeling but haven't actually vommitted once.....obviously due to my stools and the nausea and blood in stools I decided to visit my gp and explain my symptoms. He did another round of blood test (again fine) he's then prescribed me with lansprozole which certainly helps with the nausea. I decided to quit alcohol and haven't touched a drop in over 3months and I intend to abstain for life. About a month after quitting alcohol I've noticed my stools seem far more normal and definately smell more normal (sorry for the detail) I haven't noticed any further blood either. I do still feel mild discomfort in my abdomen and on occasions in my back but it's not permanent....I also seem to get itchy skin but again this is very rare...another symptom is my face feels hot internally but the skin on the outside looks and feels fine.....I've noticed my blood pressure has been a little up and down but nothing to be overly concerned about....anyway because of the pains etc I decided I needed to visit my GP again he did another rounds of bloods and this time they've come back with slightly elevated enzymes (his words are he wasn't concerned as it was only slightly over normal) anyway I explained my stool issues prior to quitting alcohol and he's asked to see me again in the new year, this is after I've had more bloods and provided him with stool samples.
I know there is a lot of experience and people that are going through similar issues and wondered if you think I've got a serious liver issue or have I hopefully abstained just in time....it's really worrying me and I'm also concerned my weight is contributing to my issues. My GP has advised I cut down on fats and eat more healthy to try and lose weight and continue to abstain from alcohol. He did say he wasn't worried but should I be??
Thanks in advance
I am hoping you will say that I can lower my MELD score. I lost 10 lbs very quickly for a total of 92 lb loss MG meds make me ill. I am forcing myself to eat three times a day. Trying to stick to no salt, no packaged, processed or canned food except tuna, I'm 5'6" and at one time weighed 232 after Breast Cancer down to 135-140. The goal is 129 but I feel better at about 150, years ago I weighed between 105 and 128. I feel weak going any lower.
Give me hope my bilirubin is 3.3. I just had a major UTI, which throws me in a downward spiral and a is continuing weak spot. I contribute it to a hospital stay for PP, diarrhea and unable to shower properly even though I was careful trying to stay clean, nothing like a removable showerhead to get really clean. I no longer have diabetes 2005-2015, insulin free now, I take .50mg of beta blocker on my tongue for portal hyper tension, no bleedouts, sometimes low platelets count but always work it back up, have rosacea, at times really bad and it is inside my eye lids. Right now wearing a halter for my heart, I have bradycardia, probably due to beta blocker (high 30's- 51 or so) beta blocker will be taken away but I have portal hypertension. Give me something positive. I want 10 more years, I have a son and married 40 years. My son is in married and the love of my life. My husband has always been there for me and I want to be here with him. Please give some hope and thank you for answering.(One neurologist wanted to give 2 good years and let me go as in die) I'm not ready, as a BC survivor, I am a fighter and warrior. I will never give up just want more quality time and I believe the answer will be in the food I eat. I'm not allowed supplements or vitamins. Thank you again. Peggy
The lumps over your liver and gallbladder may be lipomas (fat deposits). Severe gastritis is often associated with gluten and dairy intolerance so please remove both from your diet and if gastritis still occurs please use Gaviscon for relief. An ultrasound is best to determine if fatty liver is present and may also be able to determine if the lumps are lipomas.
i am a little obese . body weight .. height 5'11 and weight 91kgs.
i don't have insurance right now.
i was having some pain on upper right abdomen area just below the rib cage. last month i had a blood test and i was having bilirubin count high (total :1.9, direct : 1.2) . Total Cholesterol was only 152 ..
i changed my diet to include more oats, vegetables and fruits in my diet and now i don't have much pain in the upper right abdomen area.. i'm playing football for last one month to have some workout. recently i'm having few red spots on skin (like spider angioma) and some itching on skin. eyes are slightly reddish ...
i'm worrying if i have a liver cancer..
Castor oil has many uses as an abdominal pack, cleanses liver, pancreas, galbladder, apendix, spleen, kidneys, uterus, intestines, and lymph nodes in the intestines where bacteria accumulate and cause ulcers, crohns disease, etc.
I get mine organic at baar.com

My sister has HTT, and I understand there is a 50% chance that I might have it as well. Can HTT cause spots on the liver?
I am in my mid-60's over the last 5 years I have had significant weight gain and have been taking medications for depression and anxiety.
Any comments you care to offer will be appreciated!
Liver problems very frequently go hand in hand with digestive problems. It’s important to have the CT scan and find out exactly what the spots on your liver are.
To address your digestive problems, most people find that a gluten, dairy and sugar free low carbohydrate diet helps significantly. Glutamine powder would be very soothing for you.
Feel free to write again once you have obtained a diagnosis on the current state of your liver.
I just have a few questions and my doc refuses to answer them so here it goes.
I am 30 and just start to have bad pain on my right side below my rib cage and when I lay down I feel like there is something there, I also looked at all the systems and I have 11 out of all of them...I guess my question is how do I go about getting my doc to understand what I am saying
It's important to get a diagnosis, but you can start to follow the recommendations on our website in order to help yourself.
An appropriate diet for you would be one that excludes grains, dairy products and sugar. You may have additional food sensitivities.
What did your doctor say is causing the cirrhosis? It could be the alcohol, or it could be autoimmune disease. Your doctor can test you for that.
Aleve is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, so it can reduce redness and swelling.
It would be a good idea to see your doctor and have a liver function test to check on the health of your liver.
I've been a hard drinker, for 40 years....for days sometime. The craving gets to me. But, the sweats on my face and body...it wipes me out. No, energy, sleep terrible, cry a lot. I know I've got to quit this...or it will kill me. Could it be my pancreous too? Sorry for the spelling..
Need help...
Very tired

There is a lot of useful information on this website. I hope it helps you:http://www.couragetochange.com.au/
A diet to help your liver would exclude sugar, gluten, alcohol and dairy products. The diet in Dr Cabot's book Fatty Liver: You Can Reverse It is appropriate for you, since many people with a fatty liver go on to develop cirrhosis.
Your symptoms indicate you probably have a leaky gut and magnesium deficiency.
Following the recommendations here should help:https://www.liverdoctor.com/liver/fatty-liver/
Magnesium is wonderful for relieving and preventing headaches. Try taking one heaped teaspoon of Magnesium Ultra Potent powder each day with a meal.
Melatonin, magnesium, meditation, yoga, massage and counselling may all help to reduce the severity of insomnia.
You will be feeling much better with just these few minor changes, then once you get the book and see all the tips recipes and health protocol you are to follow you will be able to make major improvements to your health.
Thanks for contacting us- glad you find the site informative.

Yes- it is very common to continue to get those Gallbladder pains- even after having it removed. It will probably do you well to read one of the Docs latest books titled "How to save your gallbladder Naturally- and what to do if you have already lost it" You will need to stick to the protocol within that book. Did you get an abdominal Ultra sound and HIDA scan done to see if your bile is sludgy. To be honest you may not even need to get the tests done- just live a life full of Apple Cider Vinegar, use the Docs digestive enzymes, Liva Tone Plus- and follow the life style in that book. You will be feeling a lot better in no time. 1 x tsp of Collagen powder daily will also assist. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on Wendy. I have to take alot of psyche meds for my bipolar. That floods my sick liver with an overload, so the toxins my liver cant handle are put through my kidneys. My kidneys panic and react like Im poisoned and hang onto every bit of water. This is why I blow up with water and cant really pee until the meds are diluted. Also because my liver is not processing sugar into glucose, my body doesnt have enough glucose in my bloodstream to give me energy. This is why Im exhausted and have an insatiable crave for sugar. Eating mass quantities of sugar floods my liver with toxins blowing up veins all over my legs because the veins in my liver are overloaded.
Thoughts?
Well thank you for sharing yourself with us. Some times it is a necessary truth that we need to take prescription medication to balance ourselves on various levels. It seems you are under the guidance of a good psychiatrist, so the best advice i can offer you is to support your liver. Your liver will be processing and eliminating all of the toxins out of your body- and this now includes pharma meds. Please ensure you take Liva Tone Plus. Start with 1 x twice daily, then after a month, increase to 2 x twice daily on going. Id also recommend cutting out Gluten from your diet and including plenty of Raw Juices- GREEN juices. A clean and green diet DOES change your mind set. a TOTAL elimination of gluten containing products and strong Omega 3 oils will also assist. If you have any further questions, please contact Kylie at [email protected]
